Thick Card Grading

Thick Card Grading
Hi everyone.

Brand new to the card grading community. Just one question still unanswered: Are super-thick cards (180 pt) eligible to be graded by BGS and authenticated by JSA if they have an auto?

Thanks so much!

RE: Thick Card Grading
Yep. The case is a little thicker to compensate, but it can be done.

I think this tells me that they do some thick cards, but there's probably a limit. I appreciate the responses, guys! Thank you!

RE: Thick Card Grading
They are able to grade thicker cards up to 6.5 mm (1/4" thick) max.

Means certain The Cup Cards, Dimensions, Exquisite and a few others won't be able to be slabbed ( the size limit is like 150-160 point max)

There is also a WEIGHT limit for the inner sleeves as well. If they feel the item will burst the plastic they won't slab it. Forgot what that weight limit was but Pinnacle Metalwork's is one they won't do.

Hope this helps--

It is an interesting topic for certain. I have a few 07 Exquisite cards that ARE busting the inner sleeve and it makes me wonder if this policy is post-07 or I just "lucked" out?
