Some Super Bowl photos and a contest for some swag!UPDATE!! WINNER!!!!
So the Super Bowl is over, and I am both relieved and sad. I had been up since 6 AM Saturday morning and didn't get to bed till 11:30 PM Sunday night, but it was all worth it. I think the good folks who came here were treated like royalty and left with the experience of a lifetime. Both the NFL and New Orleans went all out to make this years game a wonderful experience.
As to the power thingee, the media is making a bigger deal of it than it actually was. I was sitting in the St. Charles Lounge on the second floor, and the lights went completely out there for about 20 seconds. It took a bit longer for the televisions to come back on, but the system the dome had in place was there to prevent damage to the electrical system. For a million dollars, it better well should! Seemed like the only person that got upset was John Harbaugh. The fans took it in stride (another beer break LOL).
When fans entered the Dome area, they had tailgating in the Champions garage, the lot next to it which was occupied by a hug tent. They also could enter Champions Square, where several eateries were set up, and parties inside the Club 44 area. The upper levels outside the Dome included eateries and activities. Inside were two NFL on Location parties on the first and second floors. If anyone attending this game didn't have fun, they were most certainly trying to avoid it.
I took some photos with my camera the day before, but on game day we had to rely on a video camera, so the photos may not be very clear:
