2012 topps white whale cards
Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to get clarification on the White Whale inserts for the Topps products (2012 football). I understand they are 1/1, however I'm confused as to the variations. Is there also a 1/1 "white whale" printing plate as well? I ask because I've seen a few auctions on ebay that say 1/1 white whale but the card looks like it has faint color, then others that are 1/1 white whale and the card looks faint bluish like the print slates. Are they both white whale, but one is a plate and the other is the master 1/1 or is there something I'm missing? Any help is greatly appreciated and I apologize if this subject has already been discussed.

thanks for your time.

White whales are titled "white whales" because yes they are white colored prinitng plates but they are also for there rarity like the white whale moby dick, there is only 1 of them and are extremly rare. Printing plates are called just printing plates because you have 4 colors for printing plates: magenta, black, yellow and cyan

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks for your response. For the printing plates, will they be marked as such or will they also say White Whale on them (1/1). For example, is the auction tied to this link a white whale, or a printing plate since it has the reddish tint to it?
