OT: I don't get it... Newton vs Dalton
Ok, so i'm still not tracking... why the heck are Cam's cards valued so much more than Dalton's???

W-L Records:
Cam Newton record - 8-17
Andy Dalton record - 14-11
+1 Dalton

Career Rushing:
Newton: 1,060 yds, 18 TDs, 5 Fumbles
Dalton: 227 yds, 2 TDs, 1 Fumble
+1 Newton

Career Passing:
Newton: 6,194 yds, 29 TDs, 27 Ints
Dalton: 5,727 yds, 38 TDs, 24 Ints
+1 Dalton

ESPN QBR:
Newton: 77.7 (#28 vs all NFL QBs)
Dalton: 86.7 (#12 vs all NFL QBs)
+1 Dalton

TD to TO ratio:
Newton: 1.47
Dalton: 1.6
+1 Dalton

I'm not saying that Dalton's BV should be through the roof, but there is no way that something like a Contenders RC should be 313% more in BV or that a NT should be 250% more in favor of Cam Newton.

I'd be willing to see an increase in Dalton's stuff or a dramatic decrease in Cam's stuff.

Any other opinions out there?

Since my opinion in this case was asked for, I'd say supply and demand. I have done no tracking at all obviously, but maybe Newton just has more people clamoring for his stuff, which would make it have higher bv's from higher dollar sales.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh! I don't want Dalton cards to skyrocket until I get a few. Lol. Wink

Honestly, I think it's because of style of play and potential. Cam is exciting to watch. He can make plays that Dalton just cannot, because he has every physical tool. If both QB's reach their full potential, Cam will be levels above Dalton. Collectors, I think are attracted to highlights just as much as winning. Just my thought...

Newton is far more marketable, he has commericals, mag covers, etc. People are all about whos talked up by the media more.

He plays with a style that people find more exciting. I think he's terrible this year but that means zilch when talking about collecting.

Newton has dramatically decreased IMO. Just one example would be Absolute rpm's are around $75 now from the $115-$140 range before. I'm not saying he's gone down to Dalton prices & that he shouldn't, but that gap you are talking about is A LOT smaller.
