#11

RE: Just got my Sept Beckett in the mail...
Congrats. I made the Hockey issue back a few years ago for my Felix Potvin goalie collection.
Collecting Vintage OPC and older oddball and food issues as well as Maple Leafs.

Enjoy the hobby at it's purest form, treat it as you did as a kid.

Hey Randy,

Massive congratulations on the Beckett story! I really enjoyed reading about your collection. However, I'd already stumbled across your website - I was (and still am) in awe of your collection.

As a fellow teacher, I know what it's like trying to collect cards on a budget. You've done a phenomenal job.

I just wanted to share a short story with you. I collected cards in the 1990s but stopped in the year 2000. I started collecting again in 2009 when my girlfriend (now fiance) bought me a box of Bowman 48 for Christmas so that I could re-live my childhood hobby. My biggest hit was a Bowman 48 auto jersey of Dominique Wilkins (see scan below) which, three years later, is still one of my all-time favourite cards. The colours, the design... it's so vibrant. And of course 'Nique was an incredible player to watch back in the day. Pulling the card inspired me to collect Hall of Fame autographs, which I've thoroughly enjoyed doing in the years since.

Keep up the amazing work with your collection.

All the best,

Will
