Okay, the horse s alive again - Cam Newton autos

Okay, the horse s alive again - Cam Newton autos
Meaning - I've beat the horse to death so much, he's come back to life.

I have been probably the most zealous member to question the authenticity of "certified" Cam Newton autographed rookies - even saw someone's blog use my psts to raise questions (not a Beckett blog)

My question is this - why, if his signatures "changed" so much during the season - for all sorts of reasons - did it go back again to his press pass on card auto?

Have you seen the new exquisite autos? I have always suggested that "THIS" signature was legit. - not the hoop and swoop - but the "C""N" connecting like a ca or "cam".

Can you beat the horse back to death?

I hate when they put stickers thy have the sig cut off like the top of the C...
Why not just replace it with one that's not cut off?

That's my best argument. I've heard so many people say that he can't sign normally because of the restraints in a sticker. I always come back to this example.

I've always said that this autograph was legit. Look at ALL is in person stuff - its all the same signature.

Do not give me that "signed in representatives presence or guaranteed by the player"

Even press pass got caught up with that last year in their NASCAR release....and those are on card....and guaranteed....until proven fake.
Oh - and this is what I mean about the press pass if nobody knows...

OK man, for the sake of argument, since you brought it up.

Here's a link to all the research I did that proves ALL the autos are legit. If you don't want to click on all the links, just look specifically at items 3 and 4.

Here's my original post:

Hey guys, I saw a huge thread on here not too long ago about the difference between Cam's on-card and sticker autos.

I've found enough 'evidence' that I firmly believe ALL the certified autos are legit, regardless of whether it's a sticker or on-card.

This is based on:

1) Topps' claim that ALL autos are witnessed in person.

I found this video, and granted, it's a PR thing for Topps, and it's a couple of years old, but if you sit through it you will see several athletes signing sheets of stickers in front of company reps:

2) If you compare Topps stickers to stickers from other companies, they all look alike — except for a few random Panini stickers, which actually feature the 'on-card' style on the stickers. Don't know why, but Tracy hasn't gotten back to me yet on that one.

Still, look at these two sticker autos from different companies, one being Topps:

3. Some Press Pass on-card autos actually feature a 'hybrid' of the two styles, where the C and the N are looped like on-card but the last line of the sig loops back into the T, like on the stickers.

Look here:

4. Upper Deck also has a five-step authentication process for its UDA products. Here is a signed football, and notice under the signature how he adds his #2.

Compare the distinct #2 — with only one vertical line in the pound sign and the long, loopy 2 — to the inscription on this sticker auto:

I know this is a lot of looking at links and is somewhat tedious, but imagine how long it took me to do this! LOL

Obviously it is up to everybody to form their own opinion, but I firmly believe they are all legit.

Hopefully all Cam collectors with sticker autos will feel better about this. Thanks, RJ
