I wonder why they used portrait photos for Doc and Wagner and action photos for the others

Hmm. Hadn't thought about that. Maybe it is because they are the only pitchers, but still could have gotten action photos.

Gooden had just been traded to them and ended up in 1 game for all of 4 innings for the Astros. I didn't even realize he had an Astros card until I saw that one.
