2012 SPX Shadowboxes?
So I have always liked the look of the Shadow Boxes in SPX and this year's seemed like a cool idea. BUT.... I think I may be very wrong.
I understand the slots, although they are much more common than I would have hoped. But the shadow boxes themselves have players on them?? So if I get a Barry Sanders shadowbox and choose to switch out the slot, I would have a Joe Montana insert on a shadow box STILL featuring Barry Sanders? I am confused, does that not completely ruin the entire idea for anyone else? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Gotcha, I didn't realize there was several for each player. That makes some sense.

I think this is a nice concept allowing you to make somewhat of unique duo card. Or you can change the look of your shadowbox by purchasing more slots. So you don't get tired of looking at the same card. I kind of like the idea. To bad I am not big on collegiate uniforms. I would love to have lets say a Patrick Willis Shadow box in 49ers Uniform with a Navorro Bowman Shadow slot
If they keep releasing these in the future you can add say a 2016 player to a 2012 player, so eventually you could have maybe a 2012 Barry Sanders shadow box with a 2016 Barry Sanders Jr. shadow slot in it.

i agree i like the idea..that would be very sweet if they do like you said and make more slots compatible with this years shadowbox

Yeah, see that sounds awful to me. I think it is my OCD, but I wouldn't be able to have a slot of someone in a shadow box card featuring someone else. It would drive me insane.

Freedom to choose is a good thing. I don't think it's a requirement, or it might not even been an original idea to swap them. I just think having options are cool. Alot of creativity can come from these things.
Just because I can print a picture of Jabba the Hut from Star Wars and cut it the same size of a slot and stick it into a Drew Brees shadow box doesn't mean I am going to. Nor does it mean I am going to knock the product because someone can if they choose. If someone want's to do that I would say Awesome not Awful.
