Well, after that initial thread had some good feedback, I say we make it official and do a NHL 2012 Hockey tournament. Below are some ideas for what we could do, both structure wise and "prize" wise (based on what everyone wants to do).

1) A bracket style where initial match-ups and teams are chosen at random
2) same as 1, only teams can be picked in a first come first served bases
3) still same, teams picked by members, members choose at random

After initial rounds (assuming we have enough players to warrant 3,4,5 rounds lol) we could do "best of 3" then "best of 5-7" for the finals, assuming we do short games.

I think that should cover all the options in terms of playoff style, now lets talk what we are playing for....

1) the pride that Randi can't play (love you Randi lol)
2) National pride
3) someone could donate a Stanley Cup card for us to play for (I'd do it, but don't have one)
4) a plastic minature Stanley Cup
5) we each toss in a card, winner take all

And for the Stanley cup, each member should be able to put his name on it, just like the real cup. Also, if we do, do the card idea, where everyone puts in a card, it should have a certain range of BV for each card. Like minimum $5 to a maximum of 10 or whatever

agreed, ya nothing too major card wise. I'm trying to find some repro stanley cups on the cheap (god, it's nice knowing wholesalers lol)
