I was 10 yrs old in the winter of 1984. I would have collected mattingly cards. Maybe thats why I am a mattingly collector today.. re-living my childhood...lol

It would've been somewhere around the mid 1980s for me...haha!

I would've picked up a lot more vintage back then. Guys from pre-WWI to the 50s. They were so cheap back then and have ballooned now.

I got started collecting with the 1987 Topps Christmas Green set. I opened about 6 boxes of 1990 leaf, then traded the majority of them for a 1985 Eric Davis RC. Probably my WORST!!! trade ever becuase not long after the Leafs went through the roof.

But instead of busting boxes and boxes of 1987-1992 stuff, I would have spent that on vintage.

It was 1994 when I was 10 so I would have to say I would go after A-Rod rookies and I would have stockpiled all of the 1993 Topps Finest I could get ahold of and sell them later for a huge profit.
