OT: question about supercollecting

OT: question about supercollecting
Some of you know I have decided to try and supercollect Ryan Mallett. Well I have never tried supercollecting anybody, (as serious) and I am new to supercollecting. One of the problems is he has 553 different autos but 150 are 1/1's. My question is should those 150 1/1's be included in the supercollection count or should they not be?? I need your opinions about this please!!

RE: OT: question about supercollecting
With those players with 500 plus cards and hundreds of autos, I think collecting the true 1/1s are more important than the printing plates which have saturated the market, so I wouldnt worry about them

RE: OT: question about supercollecting
No. Plain and simple. One of ones are huge plusses, but not necessary IMO. They are the icing on the cake, complete rainbows are the cats meow, but not crucial to being super.
BTW- my kids AND mom tell me I'm super everyday.

This is what I was thinking exactly just wanted to see if others thought the same or if the exact opposite. I want to post my stats so far on chibears thread, which is why I started this thread to have the 1/1's in there or not (my mallett pc is pale in comparison to others on the thread, but I am just starting)

LOL to that ast part!!

RE: OT: question about supercollecting
I collect 2010 Sam Bradford autographed cards. I added all the non-1/1s to my Organizer as Wants. As mrgonzodad said, the 1/1s are bonuses. I've got 3, but only because I got good deals on them. None are plates, and only one is a Letterman type, where there are actually 8 letters. Now, I DID add everything larger than a 1/1, which includes #/2s, #/3s, and several #/5s.

yes, they should. I have 1/1's figured into my DeMarco count. Take them out and I am at 60% at least

Personally I don't count 1/1s but I know a lot of people do. I just consider those a bonus but rarely go after them. I think they've been over played and just serve as a way to make more money. Don't get me wrong I do like them though. Smile Might be different starting with a rookie but I collect Elway and who knows how many there are. Is there a quick way to find out or just go page by page counting?

RE: OT: question about supercollecting
I think they should count - How super is your collection if you dont have the unique cards in them? Even if there are 100,000 cards numbered to 2 there is alway someone else who can have the same collection as you but with the 1/1's no one can have the same collection. Having said that I dont count 1/1's in my Daniel Thomas PC but I will be getting as many as I can in a couple years when they arent $200 a pop but then again I dont really consider myself a super collector just say I am.

RE: OT: question about supercollecting
I think every "supercollection" should have at least some 1/1s. Say there are 150 1/1s of a particular player then say you should have at least 3 1/1s with 50% of the non 1/1s.
Unique Cards:
Dolphins - 6000+
Marino - 2140
Zach Thomas - 869
Jason Taylor - 749
Lamar Miller - 341
