Grading: PSA vs. Beckett
#21

RE: Grading: PSA vs. Beckett
Another point to the OP, one big difference between PSA and BGS is that PSA grades in whole numbers (1-10) and BGS has sub-grades (i.e. 7.5, 8.5, 9.5 ect.). This could add to the point that BGS grades tougher because their scale is much more detailed and strict.

I would have to agree with several other posts that for vintage the look of PSA combined with the fact that they are more favorable and would retain the most value. For modern cards I side with BGS, great look and are still get great value. Hope this helps.

Well I prefer BGS for modern and I don't deal with vintage myself.......as far as BVG, it's one guy grading them so I'm not sure how it decides what......I found this out after they lost one of my cards and I had to call them up.....it's a 4 man group for the entire grading team.

A lot vintage collectors actually prefer SGC over BVG & PSA. They say the black border makes you focus on the card and not necessarily the grade. Beckett and SGC do not have a monthly subcription for a grading "club", but PSA requires you to join their club. So, it will cost you there too for PSA.

Here are what the cards look like in the various holders.

I would like to express my true thoughts but then I would be ban so my only advice is up to your personal preference, they both suck and are great at the same time!
