Bummer you got declined. I'm planning on trying in around the next year or so. I'm getting close to the team standards. Man it's hard to get there but it will happen.

I collect specifically Derrick Thomas. (For the most part). I'm between 650-660 different cards now between what I got and what is in the mail. Does that make me a Super Collector?
Super is an opinionated adjective based on what one would consider extreme or excessive.

Man law allows you set your own standards. As long as you consider it super it is super.

RE: Define Super Collector.....
Thanks for the opinions so far. You've really made me think. So I did some research using my online Beckett football price guide....

I have 652 of 896 DT cards. Beckett list 919 but it is picking up other Thomas' so I went through and subtracted the 23 non DT.

Rookie-3 Have 3
Serial #'d- 183 Have 66, Pretty much anything that has come out since 2006 of his is #'d
Auto-24 Have 19
Mem-56 Have 44
1/1's- 34 Have 0.....Ouch! Most of these are printing plates. Never really did much for me, so I've never really went after any, nor have I ever seen many. The ones I have seen are very pricey!

I'm pretty happy with my collection. I could have had more, even as of this week and today as of matter fact. But everyone has to decide how much you are going to spend $ wise and right now his cards on the bay (my main source) are way out of control, IMO. I have never paid for a card with anything but cash and within our weekly budget and that is important to me.
Actually, my next investment needs to be one or two new display cases for the Man cave Smile

Top 3 DT want list.

Quantity produced / % you must have (changed %'s)

Your player must have 200 cards produced of him to be eligible, as players with low production runs may be too easy to obtain, for previously entered members, they are Grand-fathered in.

200-250- 90%
251-500 - 75%
501-750 - 60%
751-1000 - 50%
1001-1500 - 45%
1501+ - 40%
I disagree with that as what if the person has only 20 cards and you have all 20, plus autographed mini helmets of each team he's played for, plus signed jerseys, plus recorded games they played in, etc.? Just like I collect Fred Williamson. He only had 4 licensed cards. I had all 4 at the time, then emailed Donruss and sent a suggestion to make Fred Williamson cards (didn't think they would do it). Now he has a ton of cards. Before Donruss produced them, he had things other than just cards. There are Coke bottle caps, team issue photos, unreleased photos from Topps Vault, etc. Super Collector should never be limited to just cards. According to that criteria, I'm not a Super Collector and you can see what I have of his stuff for yourself.

Yep, I agree. My Man Cave is loaded with other DT collectibles besides cards.
I have a game used glove, signed Jersey, Mini helmet, several magazines. Plus, I went to the HOF induction ceremony in 2009 and picked up several nice things.
