Getting cards graded

Getting cards graded
Will be sending cards to be graded for the first time soon i bought some older packs of cards/boxes of cards like 1981 Topps and 1991 stadium club and a lot of newer ones like Sage Five star and Leaf ultimate draft and I have questions for those of you that have a lot of experience.

1. When beckett says licensed do they mean only companies like topps upper deck etc or do the ones like leaf ultimate draft that are licensed by the players only count to? Is Sage Five star rookies licensed as far as beckett is concerned?
2. In terms of pt cards what would be a 1/4" card 130? 160? Even thicker?
3. Do they grade the die cut and metal cards?
4. When declaring the value of the cards I'm sending do i base it on there ungraded value or try to best guess there value after grading (this seems like it would be hard to do especially considering the huge difference in value on a card like the Joe Montana RC in a 9 vs. 10
5. Any tips you have would be appreciated

RE: Getting cards graded
1. Yes all those products you named are accepted

2. as long as the card isnt the size of a book they will grade it. lol.

3. Yes they do

4. Thats actually a really good question. Ive sent cards in before and never thought of that.

5. I think corners are the most important subgrade so make sure all four corners are crisp otherwise you wont receive any grades higher than 8.5

1,2,3 and 5 I agree with Baker. As for 4 I declare BV or replacement value.

Bakerman is right on all of them......except #5.

Centering is what they look at most crucially. I believe corners is second
Looking for Urlacher 1/1s, and 2000 Rookie Year Cards (especially BGS/PSA)
Also looking for Devin Hester 1/1s & Supercollecting Lance Briggs!

I thought the same thing. But if you were to look at the BGS forum, there's a thread where Jeff (the moderator - jeffv96masters) said that it depends on the card. I'll try and find it for you guys and gals.
Ok, I finally found it.
