It's funny to me that every time something like this comes up you hear people talking about this clique, my question is what does it matter if there is or isn't one and who is or isn't in it. I personally don't care if I'm in or out or left or right. Instead of complaining about being in or not why not just do your best to be the best member you can and leave it at that.

I'm not sure if your comment was directed at me or not, but I wasn't complaining about being in or not being in the clique, but was just trying to offer another point of view.

There are folks here who get upset with the whole "clique" thing or whatever and I just think this would rub it in their face more so to speak. I mean, I personally dont care either way but everybody here already knows all the good members for the most part and I could probably give a list with 5 peoples names on it and and at least 4 of them would probably be nominated. My point is, we have a really good forum here with a lot of great members and I just think something like this could damage that. This forum is so much better than the basketball forum and people are giving freebies and stuff like that away all the time here. I just wouldnt want any of that to change due to some controversy from a member HOF thing.

I like the point here that states everyone knows the good members for the most part and would like to add that I think these members also probably don't even want more recognition than they already get, although that's just my opinion.

I know this thread is a yay or nay thread to gauge interest in the idea and not the nominating thread, but it may help some who are on the fence.

chibearsboy - gives freebies pretty much all the time, holds great contest's (more freebies), has a fantastic attitude on the forums and has 3000+ posts.
mik253 - gives freebies frequently even if most people don't know he does, very fair trader with a collection to die for, WANTS press pass autos (that is unusual by itself).
koolkellygirl - I don't know anyone who will welcome a newbie more than kelly, sends freebies and has a great attitude on the forum.
deuce6000 - helps a lot of members by answering questions no one else bothers with, hasn't posted for a month, but was active most of the year. Does this disqualify him? A practice squad player or injured player still gets a ring. almost 5000 posts for this guy
floydtown - As a mod floydtown contributes on a daily basis. As luck would have it he is also a fantastic person and shows patience most of us just do not have. A honest and fair trader as well. Mods qualify?
rogue656 - This member is the definition of a contributing member with all the Sigs made and wanted nothing in return.
wtsjr - Member appreciation Month and random freebies sent out. Answers questions personally even though I am sure he is very busy. Employees qualify?

I have heard of more forum members that give out freebies or are frequent forum posters in support of a lot of members. They give out a smile or a shoulder when needed all the time. You know who you are, but I will list some I know are great, but have had little trading or conversation with myself.

RE: Message Board Hall of Fame
I am on the fence with this. In a way I like it, and can see Chibears being recognized immensely, he gets my top vote, right next to gooch, rgf, sconnie, mrhurtado, ripkenfan, rw34, mik, branesergen, lumpy, totally sports, cybertrenz,ftballcardz...

I think it may be a nice idea to pick just one and then it doesn't become a cliquish popularity contest. To pick the top 5, well, then many of us know who will be on that list. Picking one kinda eliminates the hurt feelings that someone may have when they see what they think is a clique all on the top 5 list... that's my opinion, btw...

RE: Message Board Hall of Fame
One idea might be to put up a list of 5 members and everyone can only vote for one. This would eliminate the clique stuff. If this has been said please forgive me.

I build sets, collect Lou Brock & Jeremy Maclin. Both of my sons went to Kirkwood HS with Jeremy. I will also look at Kurt Warner, Big Ben and Old Big Red Auto's.

You know actual hall of fame votes are secret so why not just pm your vote to shez and no one else will know which means no hard feelings to anyone

RE: Message Board Hall of Fame
This is turning into a soap opera thread! Jealousy, spite, secret ballots. I think Shezdoni was just bored and wanted to see some daytime message board drama. lol

All I see is a discussion, I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

RE: Message Board Hall of Fame
I think if everyone did agree to vote they should be sent privately through PM to the original poster so a veteran member doesnt go on here and see someones voe for someone else that makes they upset ( I personally dont think this vote should upset anyone but it would help make it less dramatic)
