Kinda OT: NFL Tackling Rules?

Kinda OT: NFL Tackling Rules?
Sitting in the man cave watching football today, and I hear the announcers discussing whether certain defensive hits are "legal" under the NFL rules. They keep using phrases such as "leading with your helmet" and "helmet-to-helmet contact", "defenseless receiver", etc....

So what exactly is the rule? Does anyone know?

Pretty much you can't lead into a tackle with your helmet

But any defender who dives at a runner (even from behind) is leading with their helmet... right?
