Does anybody know what the very first numbered card was, or at least which set was first to have one? Beats me.

I could be wrong but I think the first inserted into packs was the Donruss Elite Series which started in 90 or 91. Interested to hear if that's right or wrong

Serial numbered card? The first one that pops up in the Beckett database is
1982 ASA Mickey Mantle #1AU Mickey Mantle AU/5000 
In terms of actually inserted in packs, it wpuld be 1990 ud reggie auto.
I believe the Reggie was also the first ever inserted pack auto as well, was it not?
