BGS Grading
Is a BGS 8.5 worth buying at a good price?

RE: BGS Grading
I like 8.5 and above. Don't like the white labels.

I wouldn't pay a premium for a modern card with an 8.5. In fact, a lot of raw cards sell for more than an 8.5 of the same card, and if that's the case with your particular card, I would definitely buy an 8.5

RE: BGS Grading
9.0's, 9.5's and 10's really tend to bring a higher premium than 8.5's.

I have always looked at it IMO that 8.5's really up hold the value of the card just being encased, not increasing it. 9.0 and above, tend to actually increase the value of the card.

Example: Bid on a 8.5 the same way that you would bid on a raw and any BGS grade above that, maybe you bid a little higher depending on the market.

Hope this helps.

Only worry about it if you plan on flipping it or just getting it to resell. but if you are "collecting", 8.5's are nice. I love my 8.5's Smile

Ripken I am guessing?! I don't think I would hesitate to get anything of his that was an 8 or 8.5 either.
