10 VERY RARE BOXES (98/99 Gretzky Living Legend, 02/03 BTP etc.) A Great Slaughter!
Took a trip down to Calgary yesterday to see my favorite band in action (Blue Oyster Cult). Before the show, I decided to check out the hobby shop scene in Calgary, and boy oh boy, was I not disappointed. I located some very rare and uncommon hobby boxes of 1998-99 Wayne Gretzky Living Legend ($100), 1999-00 Pacific ($15), 1999-00 Pacific Prism ($40), 2001-02 ITG Update X2 ($40 X 2), 2001-02 Vanguard ($50), 2002-03 Between the Pipes ($40), 2002-03 BAP Signature Series ($150), 2003-04 Pacific Exhibit ($30), and 2003-04 Pacific Supreme ($50).
While not all of the hits are big, I slaughtered all but the $150 box in terms of making back my utils of happiness, as well as my money
Without further ado, the many scans of Bruce:
First off comes the very rare hobby box of 1998-99 Wayne Gretzky Living Legend. No GU cards in here, but among the many $5 BV inserts came these six serial #d Gretzky cards (#/1999). For some reason, one of them disappeared from the scan:
Then comes the 1999-00 Pacific. For $15, the quality of players I got in parallels made back my money over ten-fold (not pictured: Jay McKee Green Parallel (#/199):
Then 1999-00 Prism. Very nice cards, and very nice parallels of the right players:
Then my dad and I had a competition to see whose box of 2001-02 ITG Update was better. The first set of scans was box #1 (mine), and the hit was a $50 BV autograph of Yvan Cournoyer. (Not pictured: Rick Dipietro the Mask insert):
The second box was my dad's and he won against me with a $50 BV Roenick SP autograph, and a $30 BV rookie year auto of Pavel Datsyuk.
Then we opened up a box of 2001-02 Vanguard. Very nice cards and very good parallels. A certain Osgood collector on this site might even want one of these...
Next came the find of the millennium, 2002-03 Between the Pipes. Practically impossible to find, I almost couldn't believe that the shop owner said I could have it for $40 (not pictured: Gerber RC, Rukowsky RC, Sanford RC, Sabourin RC) The Flyers goalie is the silver parallel (#/100):
Then came the 2002-03 BAP Signature Series. I probably overpaid for it, but tell me where I can find them nowadays...that's right, didn't think so! I ended up with 16 autographs in 12 packs, plus major rookies of Zetterberg and Nash (not pictured: Veilleux RC, Kobasew RC, Upshall RC, Pirjeta RC, Smirnov RC, Hainsey RC):
Then the 2003-04 Pacific Supreme. Anotehr uncommon box I just had to get. (Not pictured: Lombardi RC, Vermette Red RC parallel, Sejna Red RC parallel, Bartovic RC, Hale RC):
Then finally came this box of 2003-04 Exhibit which featured probably the best of the Time Warp cards. The oversized and small cards pictured are blue backs #/375 (not pictured: Marc Denis blue parallel #/375):
Comments are always welcome as this was just an awesome and fun day breaking today after the awesome concert yesterday.
Again, I do not trade on this site anymore, so if you really want something, other sites that I am famous on will work.
