For instance, Contenders RC autos are like 500. The Playoff tickets are like /99 unauto'ed.
Also, being 8 of 10 is cool, but when there's a /15 /25 /50 /199 /599 also, the /599 would more than likely be used to complete sets for set builders. It all relates back to building sets. None of the companies can make money and have people searching and buying if there's only 10 possible sets to complete cuz once those 10 are complete, where's the thrill of the chase then?
is there such a thing as a "set builder" anymore ???

with each brand having 8-20 product releases a year who can concentrate on just one set ???

2010 Topps Chrome has 14 different coloured refractors now (okay so I'm exagerating a tad) how the heck can one build a set now ???

God I miss the old days ..... you had Topps, OPee-Chee, Upper Deck, Donruss and Score ..... each one 1 set, rookies were sooooooo hard to pull, auto's who'd ever heard of em, "game used" ..... not one single white swatch in a box Wink ..... you traded your wife and kids away for an Emmitt RC, cause you knew you'd have to bust 10 cases to get one $30 BV card Sad

sorry, but even after doing this since the 70's I still get confused to the rational behind it all ..... I have approx. 20 different kinds of Matthew Stafford RC's in my PC, only about 8 of those are considered "true rookies" ..... and to top it off, they're the ones that are worth the least ???

you would figure a "true rookie" would be worth more than a parallel but what do I know Sad lol

I will only pay good money for a true rookie card. If its an auto numbered to 50 from the players rookie year but is not actually part of the base set I would rather not have it.... compared to a rookie from the base set numbered to 500 with an auto
