Collecting BGS or PSA

Collecting BGS or PSA
Some of you guys on here collect BGS or PSA cards either by buying them graded or having yours graded. I was curious if you guys mix and match though. Like do you have some PSA 10s and then some BGS 9.5s? Or do you try to stick to BGS only or PSA only? Seems I can buy some PSA 10s cheaper and other times the BGS cards are cheaper.

On a side note, why doesn't PSA sleeve there cards when they encase them?

BGS 9.5 all the way for 90's MJ inserts, however anything pre 90's then PSA 10 is the most sort after....

I have a few PSA 10's only because i can't find the cards in BGS 9.5!

RE: Collecting BGS or PSA
I always go for PSA 10 than BGS 9.5.
MJ RC PSA 10 price is around $9k
BGS 9.5 is around 4k

But i dont like PSA holder for thick card, its huge

I do PSA for anything prior to the late 90s, like others have said many times a psa 10 will sell for more than a bgs 9.5.

RE: Collecting BGS or PSA
Everybody seems to leave BGS 10 off the list. I would assume that would be the best even above a PSA 10.

And still no thoughts about why PSA doesn't sleeve there cards before slabbing them.

Oh yeah man a BGS 10 is really where it's at! But those are so few & far between it's almost impossible to try & build an entire collection in that grade, not to mention the prices!!!!! People talk about MJ RC PSA 10's being worth so much more then BGS 9.5's..... Well try comparing one to a BGS 10 Jordan RC : )

So while it seems most everyone is picking PSA over BGS, thats only because a BGS 10 is almost impossible to find. Based on the few replies here I would put the order of most desired as follows assuming you could find all the cards you wanted in BGS 10 and money wasn't an issue.

Wouldn't life be a lot more fun if money wasn't an issue?

You might be being a little mislead with some comments about BGS vs PSA...
PSA is THE most sort after when the card being graded is PRE 1990...
ANYTHING after that year, then BGS is the most sort after by far and will often comand $100's more for a BGS 9.5 over a PSA 10.

MJ 1993-94 Ultra Power in the key for example:
PSA 10's sell for $200-$330
BGS 9.5's sell for $900-$1700

Forget about BGS 10, an MJ 1986-87 RC BGS 10 would sell for $50,000-$100,000 possibly more.

Psa demands a higher price in a lot of scenarios post 1990 cards. 2005 chrome Aaron Rodgers rookie.

Psa 10 250-300
Bgs 9.5 160

In my opinion Bgs gets a higher premium on the autograph, relic cards (modern stuff) and jordan inserts fall in this realm to..but when it comes to future hall of famer rookie cards. PSA is superior and demands a higher premium ( Brady, manning, Rodgers)
