Getting Back into the swing of things

Getting Back into the swing of things
Howdy all!

Long time no see! Happy April 15th (even though tax day is the 17th this year)

My sincerest apologies to everyone who has sent me PMs or trade offers the last couple months, but my entire life has been tax season, tax season, tax season, and more tax season.

But things are slowing down, and after Tuesday, I'll have my life back.

To those who sent me PMs - if you still need assistance, please send me a new message, as I'll probably just wipe out all my old unanswered PMs and start anew.

To those who sent trade offers, I'll be responding to those who left them open shortly...if you cancelled because you didn't get a response, again I'm sorry, but feel free to re-send them if you want.

Good news - the IRS isn't going to be matching K's til next year...you can still just lump total sales on one line.

Starting next year you'll have to separate out credit card sales reported on 1099-K from the rest of your sales and report them on separate lines (the line is on this year's form, but the IRS didn't get their computers programmed in time to read that line, so they won't be starting matching til next year)

Believe it or not, we still had clients bringing stuff in Thursday and were shocked when we told them that they were going to have to file extensions...

What is the easiest way to file an extension?
Looking for Ozzie Guillen, Gordon Beckham, Frank Thomas, Travis Snider, John Starks, White Sox and anything else that catches my eye!

Print form 4868 off irs.gov website and fill out name, address, ssn etc. Postmark by today. If you think you're going to owe tax, you should send a check as well...otherwise you get hit with interest & penalties when you file.

Edit - assuming you're talking about extending your personal taxes. For business returns use form 7004
