1978 topps

1978 topps
Hey all. I was hoping someone could tell me what the difference is between the team checklist cards of the 1978 topps. The two pictured appear to be identical but obviously they are not or they wouldn't be listed separately and have such a big price difference. Also, the 79 topps are all listed with 2 variations. One regular and one with the cream colored back. What color was the other back? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

RE: 1978 topps
I have wondered the same thing about the 1978's and have never found the answer. However, the 1979 Topps set included a handful of cards that had no color ink on the fronts. I have only seen pictures of 5-6 cards from the set that look that way, and none of them are the same player. It is possible that is the variation they reference, but it is only my guess.

Hopefully someone here can give us more information on both years.

Yeah, I hope so too. I even went to the Topps website and couldn't find anything. I would think they would have some sort of library that could be used as a reference for this sort of thing. Thanks for the feedback.
