Right now, no one is giving out any kind of renters insurance to people in my area thanks to the fires. I will wait until winter when we have 2' of snow to call.

Yeah they always pay out when nothing is likely to happen!! Keep them as safe as you can and enjoy!!

First off, when you go back to the main football listing listing page go to the bottom where it says "search this forum". Type in the words fire safe, you will find posts to three threads on this very topic from a couple years ago. One of the posters on one of the threads claims to be an expert on safes and he gives good advice. Check it out.

Secondly, there used to be a sports card insurance company that used to advertise on this very site on the top of the page. Does anyone remember that?

Also, remember to please clean the lint screen of the clothes dryer machine if you have one in your house.

In closing I always wonder if the 1/1 cards that I assume to exist really do exist due to fires, flooding and other natural disasters.

i worked on a claim for a major league baseball all-star whose house burned down. i can tell you that he had a stack of 500 cards that he had to sign and send back to the company....and those are all gone

but i assume most cards that you are looking for and you cant find are being held by people like upper deck diamond club members. i know 1 out in cali who literally has hundreds of thousands of cards numbered 100 and less just sitting in packs he's opened and thrown back into the box and stored. the stuff he had was unreal
