Ugliest card ever? - jack pfiester - 07-02-2021
Came across this card by accident as I wouldn't proactively search for a fugazi.
Not sure if I need 3D glasses, polarized lenses, or Lasik surgery to see what's happening here.
What a shame. 1987 Donruss Highlights is one of my favorite 1980's box sets!

I think the border is kind of ugly, but personally, I don't mind the fireworks theme. I have a Larrell Murchison football card like that from 2020 Contenders Draft Picks, and it looks really nice. But yeah, there's definitely a lot going on. Is it like a rainbow Prizm, where you can only see the pattern if you tilt it in the light, or is it more printed-on?

I would not even put it in the Top Ten Ugly list. I have seen some really bad ones in the 90s and early 2000s that were trying too hard to be noticed. But then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? I mean, there might actually be somebody who thinks the Mayor of Chicago and Bernie Sanders are beautiful.

True! When I was poor I could only afford the 1995 Fleer Update set...yikes! 1997 Donruss Long Ball Leaders insert set...what were they thinking about dark on dark?

I was never a fan of ‘90 Topps or ‘91 Fleer.

1990 Topps nails the 80s aesthetic fairly well imo. 1991 Fleer can be jettisoned into outer space.
