target to stop selling cards -- at least for  now-- after a fight broke out over cards in the parking lot.

Just another moment by people who have lost their minds.

Well that sucks. Too bad that some people have to ruin it for everyone. I bought about half of my retail cards at Target over the past decade including my yearly factory sets but honestly I haven't seen a pack to buy there since March 2020 so I guess it doesn't really matter anymore.

Can anybody account for where RJ was on that day? LOL

I get my Topps Baseball factory set there every year as well.

Once Target announced that they were only selling on Friday at 8am, I stopped going there all together. Saved me a lot of wasted trips and time. Out of curiuosity I was thinking of going there one Friday morning and taking a picture of all the losers waiting in line for cards instead of getting a job. I was thinking of starting a thread for posting pictures of these numbnuts. Guess I waited to long. Though maybe I will get to WalMart tomorrow and see if I can get a picture since Friday's are the days they stock at my local WalMarts.

The Retail Sharks have won

Collectors (especially more casual collectors) have lost

Nothing to do now but wait for the inevitable crash

What I would like to know is what has happened to "No Loitering" policies, both inside and outside the store? Target has people who work as security. Ive seen them there. Why cant they simply kick people out and not allow camping outside their doors?

Target security personnel need to take a much more active role in this nonsense.

I'll gladly buy cards from Target online. Less time I have to spend in the store. I can wait a couple of days before getting my cards. Feel sorry for those who relied / enjoyed retail portion of the hobby.

Wow!

I'm super curious what led to that; a part of me wonders if someone was pack-searching. Target's had their limit of 1 Product Per Day for a while now, and I can 100% see someone standing in the way and feeling up all the hanger packs while people behind them stewed.

I also wonder what this will mean for the future of retail. Specifically, I wonder if it won't be easy to buy until the crash happens, if there will soon be stricter rules to weed out the chowderheads who ruin it for everyone else, or if Target will wind up with a gold mine's worth of online orders.

If Wal Mart also stops selling cards then I guess my buying days are over.  I rarely buy hobby or jumbos any more.

If Target is this bad I can't even imagine what's going on in a Walmart.
