Called It (Teddy being Teddy) - kerryandbeth - 09-22-2019

After Brees' injury I announced last week that Teddy Bridgewater can now show what he can do...even before the Saints announced the starting QB. I miss him in purple!!

Hopefully he continues to do and he gets to take over a team next year

I always liked Teddy and was bummed about his injury.

The guy can play, no doubt.

I'm happy for him!

Teddy did it again...led the Saints to another win. I am not a NO fan, but great to see him doing well.

So, do they retain him as the heir apparent to the 40-year-old Brees?

Good question. Has Drew mentioned how long he still wants to play (like Brady and Rodgers)?

I don't know that he's ever put a number to it really. But like Brady, his skills don't seem to be declining much if at all. He'll probably stick around UNLESS they win the Super Bowl, since guys love going out on top. Unless he's wanting to chase records and beat Brady out for the TD mark.

I think Brees could play a few more years. He doesn't quite have the arm he used to, but with possession catchers like Thomas, and a stellar run game, he can do plenty to lead them to consistent wins. If saints follow the Patriot blue print of building around Brees, I think Bridgewater will get a chance with a team next year. Titans, Bengals, Redskins, Dolphins, Chargers, Bears, could all be looking for a starter. A couple of those teams might be interesting to Bridgewater.

Get a new team or wait out brees retiring
