2006 Absolute Memorabilia #71 Peyton manning - nflfootballnut - 03-17-2019
I just picked up the above card. Went to add it to my list but I noticed the Super Bowl 41 logo is etched on the front of the card. Card is not serial numbered and I don't see this etched emblem on the card shown. Anyone know what this card may be? Special addition card? Any help would be great, thanks!

No idea! My guess would be a promo card, but JP should be able to find the dirt on this one lol.

The embossed is really hard to see from the scan. I haven't been able to track anything down yet for Playoff Absolute Memorabilia but I do see that a couple different manufacturers made Super Bowl XLI cards according to Beckett - https://www.beckett.com/search/?term=super+bowl+xli&sport=185224&player=330115&page=1 -.
None of those really match what you have but that's not to say Beckett contains 100% of all known promotional items.
This eBay auction (not mine) references a 2006 Score card with XLI embossed on it, I'm curious if the embossed location and look match your card - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Abdul-Hodge-2006-Score-Rookie-Super-Bowl-XLI-Embossed-Logo-405-ONLY-10-RC-MADE-/362573362068?oid=401667658164 -.

I can't say whether it's an authentic stamp or not though. It's not super hard to emboss paper but that's not to say it's unauthentic. Was there a story to the card when you picked it up?

The card on ebay does have the same logo in the same area as on my card. The image I uploaded doesn't show the logo very well unless you cant the card a little. No story, I happened to pull it out of a box of manning cards at a card show. $1 I thought it was the regular Absolute when I grabbed it, just happened to notice the logo as I put in in new penny sleeve and top loader. Now I'm intrigued. Think if I reach out to Panini "Absolute" they will have some info?

First of all, congrats on the find! Can't argue with pulling a card like that for $1!!

select Quality Assurance, it's the most general option they have. Panini bought out the Playoff brand in 2009 or 2010 so they may not have archived info that goes back to those days.
