I am not too familiar with any of the last 3 either and A-R seemed the most logical of Italian cars. A-M was a logical guess as well, b/c I know they have run in many types of racing series'. I am guessing that Mazda and Honda were not correct.
So we are down to 8 manufacturers to name, right? Can you give us a hint? How many are left from each country?

So I'm looking for car manufacturers that may have run only one race? In the 50s? Wow....

Just to defend my statement about VW, they were actually looking at becoming a modern NASCAR manufacturer recently, and decided not to pursue it.

I'm not ignoring the thread, friends...I'm just lost with this one! I haven't found any manufactures that haven't already been mentioned. I did read somewhere Nash had a win, but I couldn't determine if that was before or after the merger with AMC. Other than that, I can't find anymore info anywhere that y'all haven't already said.

Tough one, Gary!

RE: NASCAR Trivia Thread - leadmetogreatness - 10-05-2014

there is 1 more german co, 3 more uk co, 4 more american co. Tom yes there from the 50's,60's cars. Wow didn't think vw really wanted to run in nascar but learned something new. Didn't mazada or honda are interested in getting into nascar? At least I thought I heard something about that, I think dodge should come back or maybe nissan a new entry. Jason I think nash won before the merger. With so many different cars and car mergers there are multi subcompanies.
Additional hint think luxury.

I can't believe I didn't remember this before. The other German car is Porsche.
I found another UK car. MG (Morris Garages) which was owned by British Motor Corporation (BMC) when they raced in NASCAR.
MG was the LAST foreign car manufacturer in NASCAR until Toyota came in. Their last race was in 1963. So all unnamed manufacturers left raced before then!

They still race in the Truck series. Wink
Did Packard run any races before they merged with Studebaker?

Oh yes, I know. And I'm very proud of my Dodge Dakota truck! But the real prestige is in the Cup Series. And Dodge needs to be back in it.

I agree that Dodge should come back to NSCS, but it's also kinda odd that Penske has been SO good this year after switching from Dodge to Ford. It's funny how a manufacturer change can really help a team and/or driver. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next year with Carl Edwards moving from a Ford to a Toyota.
