what would you do? Redemption Question - DrMitchJ - 05-05-2014
I have the following 4 cards pending for redemption.
2013 Bowman Platinum Baseball Auto Relic Refractor of Trevor Bauer
2013 WBC Baseball World Baseball Classic Base Auto of Nelson Cruz
2013 Topps Triple Threads Unity Auto Jumbo Relic Sepia Para of Didi Gregorius
2013 Topps Tribute Baseball Tribute Autograph of Robinson Cano
I was offered replacements by Topps. But then they told me I could trade them all in for one bigger card. I agreed to that. Of course they couldn't tell me or promise me anything, except it'll be an auto worth the combined beckett value. Was that smart or stupid? Anyone have any success with that type of replacement with Topps.

Smart move IMO. I did the same thing. Three out some big names as well.
Well the one I didn't mention they sent me. Harper finest auto to 25 with a nice red stripe.

I think overall I'd rather have a guaranteed superstar auto in the Cano but since they probably are not getting signed, I think it may be worth the risk to go your route. At the bare minimum they should be sending you an auto of at least $75 BV? I would hope they'd give you something nice and I look forward to seeing the result. Good Luck!

I would say good move, that is, until you see what you get. Bauer can't get out of AAA, Cruz is a roider, Didi auto's can be found for couple bucks. Only one I'd worry about would be Cano, but my guess is if the card you get isn't what you like, you could sell it and buy auto's of all 4 and still make money.

Yeah, but luckily, I had two Cano redemptions. One was /35 the other /99... He signed the /35 Sepia but not the other, so .... Since he's not a Yankee anymore, figured I'd cash him in.
