Is it worth doing true 1/1s or print plates thru BGS? - floridaboytaz420 - 10-15-2012

Curious on peoples opinions of getting cards that are uber low #d, like /10 & under, having them graded?

I've been wanting to do it for a long time & finally am able to afford it, but just realized more than 1/3 of my collection (all autos except the print plates) is #d like 10 or less, with over 30 true 1/1s in my collection.

Thanks for everyones opinions!

There's a strong group of people that say grading low #'d cards is pointless as there's not that many of them anyway so what's the point if it's a 10 or a 7.

I have to disagree. I grade my low #'d cards. In fact I am sending off 2 1/1 auto cards this week. There's nothing like the security provided by a BGS holder.

And people can rant and go on about how there's only ONE 1/1 in a set but 1/1 cards are becoming the new Jersey card with all the different 1/1 parallels. Just from one set I have 3 1/1 cards of Drew Brees. Each with just a SLIGHTLY different variation. I mean really?

I support grading any 1/1.

I would say to, but if worried just go "authentic". That way its contained but does not have a grade.
I still get the grade on 1/1, because come on, we all know what shape the card is in by looking at it, the grade just confirms it.

when I do finally send them in, I'm going to do a minimum grade of 8.5 that way anything lower gets the "authentic" preservation still. I think...

Id say so. I grade my 1/1's. Plus if you get a gold label it looks badass.
