A question for everyone - wolverine74 - 10-13-2012

At what book value do you consider a card to be high end? I know "high end" is a relative term based on one's financial status, but in your opinion where is the line between low, mid, and high end.

RE: A question for everyone - jacobystealshome - 10-13-2012

everyone is different, and it isnt solely based on book value. for instance, a 60 dollar insert from the 90's might be high end to someone, and not to others. but a 60 dollar patch card miht not be high end to some, but it would be to others

but in general:

low end: 5-20
medium: 20-80
high end: 100+

Anything above $100 is high book. If I was getting stuff graded nothing under $100 goes.

like jacoby said everyone is different and I do think you have to go more with your finances in that case.

for me, low end anything under $20
mid- $20-$60
high end- $60 and up.

hope this helps.

To me-
Low-end: under $10
Mid-end: $10-50
High-end: $50-100
Ultra high-end: $100+

I agree with this post

I would consider anything over $50 high end.

OK...so for the longest time I have been interpreting things wrong. When I see "high-end" I always thought that mean the product that the card came from was "high-end". I also thought that "low-end" would be the base of the base stuff like base Topps, Score, NBA Hoops etc etc. An example of what I thought was high end would have been Triple Threads, Prominence, anything that will run over a c-note per pack.

So am I totally wrong and off base here?

Over $100 USD is a high-end card to me. My idea is somewhere between uvaspina and jacobystealshome.
