Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - wampier - 09-28-2011 The material is completely wrong from the era in which Gehrig played... http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOU-GEHRIG-Bat-Knob-Barrel-CUT-cuts-TOPPS-Triple-Threads-1-1-YANKEES-Pin-Jersey-/360397148428?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item53e958110c Not sure if it came from Topps like this, or the guy altered it.. Not a fake but really really really really really really really really bad quality control from Topps. TOPPS screwed that one up EXACTLY like they screwed this one up.... RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - slufan83 - 09-28-2011 Wow both of those are just bad. What is Topps thinking?!? RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - wampier - 09-28-2011 That Cobb is priceless!! Did you pull that?? I would be contacting Topps immediately. RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - cybertrenz02 - 09-28-2011 It only says the bat knob was used by Cobb on the back of the card.....not the jersey....look at it again RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - alexs64 - 09-28-2011 Here is a good read on it... http://www.freedomcardboard.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2014565#p2014565 RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - wampier - 09-28-2011 (09-28-2011, 01:08 PM)cybertrenz02 Wrote: It only says the bat knob was used by Cobb on the back of the card.....not the jersey....look at it again Under the pieces it says game used.. RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - gatorfoley12 - 09-28-2011 With issues like this coming up more more on higher end products as well as issues with ebay sellers faking patch cards I think that Topps or any other company should start taking pictures of any mem card and retaining it in there records with each product. This would help in two ways 1) If they are taking a picture of a card they can catch an obvious error 2) If a consumer on ebay questions a patch on a card they can verify that in fact the patch pictured is the patch or swatch that was present at the time the card was packed out. We does everyone else think? RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - wampier - 09-28-2011 Nice idea, but too much leg work for Topps... Who does not really care. As shown in the Tribute relic (bench seat) screw up. RE: Lou Gehrig Fake from Topps?? - alfredoleal2001 - 09-28-2011 (09-28-2011, 02:23 PM)wampier Wrote: Nice idea, but too much leg work for Topps...
