PSA 10's? - joe callahan13 - 09-07-2011

There really isn't any graded card pricing for pristine 10's. I realize it is an imperfect science since they are quite rare, so I am just looking for opinions. What do you think graded 10's are worth in relation to their 9.5 counterparts? Double the 9.5's? Obviously there are a lot of other factors that go into it, so just looking for a ballpark. Let's hear it.....

No. PSA 10s are GEM MINT, just like BGS 9.5s. I actually value PSA 10s a bit less than BGS 9.5s

Well I meant graded 10's, regardless of the company, but that doesn't make any sense to me anyway. You can call a 10 whatever you want, it's still a 10? You're saying it is easier to get a PSA 10 than a BGS 10?
By that logic, a BGS 10 is nicer than any card PSA has ever graded because they would have called it "pristine" and the best card PSA ever graded was still only called "gem mint"! Lol

You're right, a PSA 10 could very well be equal to a BGS 10 in quality, but by definition they only have to be in BGS 9.5 condition or better to recieve that grade. So the PSA 10 doesnt mean as much as the BGS 10, and in turn there is a huge difference in price/value between the 2.

Also like the previous poster stated, alot of collectors would pay more for a BGS 9.5 than the same card in a PSA 10. This is not an opinion, it's an easily verified fact.

Well then does that mean a BCCG 10 is equal to a PSA or BGS 10? I tend to hold BGS cards to higher value. But a PSA 10 is basically the same to me as a BGS 10. As far as your question. I'd say it would about 1.5 times the High end BV value.

Agree 100 % with this statement.
I am not a graded card fan....I only have a handful of them in my entire collection...but for people that do collect graded cards....a BGS 9.5 will bring more than a PSA 10.......in most cases quite a bit more.

really a BCCG 10 is probably real close to just a raw card in good condition.....BCCG cards are nothing like BGS or even anything close to PSA

RE: PSA 10's? - joe callahan13 - 09-07-2011

Ok so a BGS 10 then compared to a BGS 9.5? I am still looking for a general idea of value....

And if anyone has a subscription to PSA pop reports and willing to satisfy my curiosity, PM me. I would be interested to see the breakdown on some more commonly graded items.

RE: PSA 10's? - mattfastiggi - 09-07-2011

Really? DUde, there's a HUGE difference between a PSA 10 and a BGS 10. There are no companies out there that match the quality of a BGS 10 PRISTINE card. They are all in comparison to the BGS 9.5 GEM MINT card, which is why they put GEM MINT on their cases and not PRISTINE.

And yes, there is a HUGE difference in price between a BGS 9.5 and a BGS 10. Here's and example.

BGS 9.5 / PSA 10 Montana Rookies sell for $2-3K plus.

Yup, I stand corrected, I have never had access to the PSA pop reports. But looking at them, the 10's are easier.

Yeah and if you think that's crazy, try the 1986 Fleer Jordan RC!!! 9.5's sell anywhere between 4-10K depending on subgrades, while BGS 10's (there have been 3 sold) all went for over 100,000!!!!!
