Strasburg got rocked today!

1 2/3 innings in his third rehab start and gave up five runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three.

Will this effect the value of his cards?

RE: Stephen Strasburg - iconms - 08-17-2011

absolutely not. lots of people have been patiently waiting for him to come back and I doubt one bad rehab start will cause them to jump ship

RE: Stephen Strasburg - ricelynnevans75 - 08-17-2011

I doubt it. Most people realize that he's coming back from surgery and it's only his third start. If it becomes a trend, then yes. Otherwise, it's just a bad start.

And he is a human being not a machine and ALL pitchers get rocked from time to time.

While watching the Reds-Nats game on the Nats' network, they said that minor league rehab starts don't mean ANYTHING as long as he is feeling good

RE: Stephen Strasburg - jacobystealshome - 08-17-2011

jeez...one bad inning, and the market is supposed to be affected?

RE: Stephen Strasburg - jn baseball cards - 08-17-2011

You would think the stock market was crashing!

RE: Stephen Strasburg - bonds20001 - 08-18-2011

The Post article this AM said that he felt good, but his fastballs were a little high and they hit it hard. 3 doubles off the wall..
A and AA ball, they are free swingers and he throws hard and throws strikes = smash if the ball catches too much plate or is belt high.
His curveballs were very good last night, fastballs up and slammed.
of the 5 outs..3 were Ks
Card value = no change at all....

Shouldnt mean anything at all. If it becomes a regular occurence at the major league level, then absolutely. But there is no reason for anything to plummet now

I would like to point out that the cubs a week or two ago gave up ten runs in one inning to the cardinals. So technically he is better then that haha jk cubs fans i dont mean anything by it. Also after tommy john surgery it would normally take a normal guy like us a couple years to be able to do normal stuff, and he is throwing a baseball 100 mph 50 times he is actually starting to impress me with his recovery.
