Any seasonal collectors here? - talkntribe - 08-09-2011
I was thinking about expanding my card collecting into football and basketball. As of right now its been nothing but baseball. I think once the football season starts i'll start collecting and so on with basketball. Does anyone else do this? I don't wanna stop collecting baseball but someone told me they don't update prices on baseball during the winter season. Not sure if there is any truth to that though.

No truth to that. Card values don't move as much during the offseason - as there's less activity that would cause a swing in card's value one way or the other...but they are still monitored.
I collect about 80% baseball, and 20% football

When baseball ends, I sometimes switch over to hockey a bit more and vise-versa.

I'm 99% baseball
They (I guess mainly Topps these days) keep on putting products out throughout the year to keep interest up - even during the offseason. Offseason is usually a good time to buy too.

I love hockey and football but I keep it mainly focused on baseball other than a few packs/singles here and there. Hockey's actually my favorite sport but I love collecting baseball cards the most, and I can't afford to buy all the baseball as it is so I don't buy much other sports.

I try to collect Texans stuff sometimes but I just don't have a connection with those cards so I stick with baseball. Football is my favorite sports but the cards just don't give me as much of a connection.
