RE: 2011 Bowman Chrome 5 Case Break and Contest Thread [SECOND CONTEST OPEN] - pyweed - 10-21-2011

Case #3, Box #1

Prospect refractor /500: Shaeffer Hall
Blue refractors /150: Justin Verlander, Jacoby Ellsbury
Xfractor Bowman’s Best Prospects /25: Jonathan Singleton

Comments: Decent veteran color, nice Singleton parallel insert.
Grade: C

Those are quality veteran blues. Gould and Singleton are decent prospects. I would upgrade to a C+.

Good point about the blues; hard to do much better with the veterans. I went back and forth on how to value the Singleton. At the very least, this low numbered parallel has a lot of upside.

Case #3, Box #2

Orange refractor /25: Alex Colome
Refractor set USA 18U Redemption
Blue refractor auto USA 18U /99: Chris Okey
Blue refractor prospect auto: Aaron Hicks

Comments: Two blue autos, an orange, and a refractor set. Doesn’t get much better without a Harper.
Grade: A+

Case #3, Box #3

Prospect refractor /500: Kyle Blair
Blue refractor /150: Trevor Cahill
Refractor prospect auto /500: Christopher Wallace

Comments: Biggie Smalls in the hizzie, base refrizzie.
Grade: Dizzle
Case #3, Box #4

Gold refractors /50: Dave Bromberg
Prospect auto: Bradley Holt

Comments: I really don’t think we need a base card of a guy on the auto checklist.
Grade: D
Case #3, Box #5

Prospect refractor /500: Josh Judy
Prospect auto: Khris Davis

Comments: Ouch
Grade: D
