Probably another .5 on the surface subgrade would have warranted a 9.5 overall, so freakin close! That stupid black print spot. Would be worth literally a few hundred dollar more as 9.5. Still ecstatic to have it in my collection tho.



Also got another one 8.5 ain't bad. I figured the centering was too low.



I'll post some more from this submission. Just was excited to get these posted. Got a few lower end MJ's graded 9.5, and a Penny Hardaway 9.5. No luck adding to my 9.5 1992 Beam Team set goal tho... the hunt goes on.

Not trying to be barer of bad news but the surface grade on the "9" would have to have been a 9 (or higher) for overall grade to be 9.5

I thought the surface grade and the final grade could be one whole "grade" difference. As the example of the "9" the final grade is a 9 and the surface grade is a 8. Based on that that is a difference of 1 so had he got a 8.5 on the surface grade he could have got a 9.5. Is that how it works?

The way I understand it is that the lowest sub grade has to be two full grades below the others. So in this case, the lowest sub is 8 and the others are all 9.5 so the overall grade would bump to a 9.

Some other examples;
8.5, 8.5, 8.5, 6 would be a 7 overall.
9, 9, 9, 8 would be an 8.5 overall
9.5, 9.5, 9.5, 8 would be 8.5 overall
7.5, 7.5, 8, 8 would be 7.5 overall

So just to clarify, for the lowest sub grade to bump one full grade it has to be at least two full grades lower than all the sub grades!

Oh okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. In some situations I almost wish they would just average to make things easier. Not sure though if that would be best for the overall grade. Thanks again.
