How much are you willing to pay?
Here's a scenario.
A player's auto sells for $50 a pop. That's his rookie year.
Second, third, and fourth year autos sell around 20-25.
His RC's are numbered to 499.
His short print autos the second, third, fourth, whatever are numbered to 25.
But then there's the twist. His super short prints NON-autos numbered to 5 or 10, are selling more than what his rookie year autos or other autos go for.

Depends on how badly I want the card. If there are only 5 copies of a card and you want it, then you have to pay what it takes to get it, especially if it's a popular player. Or a popular set. How much his autographs are worth is irrelevant. What cards are you talking about?

I paid $139 for the Peyton Manning. I would imagine that one would break $75. Those cards are semi hot and highly sought after.

WOW! 139? I've paid that much on a /5 Ryan auto before, but not a non-auto or patch.

That's funny. I was wondering if you were talking about the gold Prizms. Those are crazy outliers, if you ask me. There have been a couple Favres that sold each for around $150. Most other /10 Favre cards sell between $25-50.

I know. The most I've ever shelled out for a Ryan numbered to 10 is like 30-35 bucks, but 45ish is a bit too much. It's low-end auto territory there!

It always is!
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.
