2012-13 Panini Marquee 14 pack break

2012-13 Panini Marquee 14 pack break
I wasn't too sold on this product. It is a lower-end product with boxes in the $120 range or so. Three autos per box but I couldn't find anything numbered or any real appeal to buying any more of this. Also, this set is 500-something cards including the SPs (not the autos).

I truly don't get the concept of how this set works...

I will post the pics by the subsets I guess.
THis is the base design:

The word "Rookie" is die cut

These are actually better looking than the scan could show

Not really sure why the Kyrie is red(I am thinking team color)

The word rookie is acetate

The MKG and Miller is a leather-type card. The C-Webb "All rookie" is a die-cut

So I rounded out a trade with the owner of the LCS. It was several cards that I figured were valued around $20. He offered three packs of this stuff for the cards. I didn't want the other cards. He did. I took him up on his offer and hit this.

Overall I kind of like this product. However, the rookie auto checklist.....leaves ALOT to be desired. There are even more stiffs in this stuff than other 12-13 Panini product.

Way to stick it to the owner!lol. I like the swirl cards, and the leathers aren't bad. It just seems like they took a bunch of ideas and threw them at the wall to see what sticks. Weird product, hard for me to spend money on it, even in cheap group breaks. Theres just not that much to chase. Im still on the Select Bandwagon. Just cant get enough of it.

I picked up a box today and really liked the design of the cards, but all thick? The Autos were weak for me, wish I pulled a great RC auto.
I collect Penny (Anfernee) Hardaway, and my son collects Ty Lawson. Please let me know if you have anything rare of either player.

Yeah I wasn't too hot on the Reggie Jackson but the Anthony Davis paid for the 14 packs.

I agree with you here. They took 5-6 different ideas and through them into a product. THen someone at Panini said , "lets make it one really large set". Nobody had the audacity to speak up to that guy and that is where Panini Marquee came from. I am not a huge fan of the extremely condition-sensitive die cuts but I like the aboe average card stock they used. Its a mixed bag of good and bad.

I will NOT be buying a full box though regardless of the future price point.

I'd like to trade for the Irving rc if I have anything in my bucket you could use. Did you pull and Derrick Williams or Isaiah Thomas (rc)?

You don't have anything marked FT in your org. I checked in your bucket and there is nothing in there that I could use for the Kyrie. The only rookies that I hit were the ones that I posted pics of. If you have anything not scanned in your bucket let me know. I am primarily looking for Stephen Curry and secondarily looking for Kobe and Paul Pierce.

Nice stuff man, that is a weird product, I had been trying to figure out what were base what were subsets and what were inserts? You know I'm interested in the Zeller and Irving and the Irving/Wall Matching numbers. I have the Kobe Matching still and a Curry Select Prizms for you. Let me know if we can get another deal worked out.

I was really wondering about this product when I saw the release. It always concerns me when there are large packs like this one. Looks like you did ok though! That Davis should be quite nice!

Either way looks like you made it work. Are you going to be buying any preferred when it releases later this month?
Always willing to trade for Dwyane Wade/Alonzo Mourning Cards

I would like to get in on the Preferred. Money is relatively tight around my house right now so I am not too sure. If I have the dough I will be involved in Preferred.

WHat about you on the Preferred front? I also may just grab some Steph curry and Kobe Booklets on the Bay.
