OT: Ebay Problem (Suggestions PLEASE)
#1
Question
OT: Ebay Problem (Suggestions PLEASE)
So I won a pair of cards from a single seller on ebay.

Before I placed my bid I asked the seller if the cards had any damage or were mint.

He said they were in perfect condition.

I won both items for under $4 + 3.50 combined shipping for a total of $7.42.

I wanted to confirm the condition of the cards before I paid.

Now he says they are NR-Mint and he can not vouch for them being mint.

I kind of feel like one of 2 things is happening either.

A) the cards sold for less than he wanted and now he wants to back out of the deal. (considering one is a patch /25 and the other is an auto /25)

OR

B) Bait and Switch on the condition.

I told him I didn't want to be out the return shipping and I didn't want him to be out his shipping if I returned.

Do I go through with the purchase and hope the cards are in good condition or do I allow him to cancel like he offered.

I'm guessing A) Cards sold less than he wanted because I emailed him to confirm condition.

I'd just take the risk, I mean if all else fails you're out 8 bucks

as a buyer, I never really look at stars. I just like at positive %.

people usually give international sellers low stars because it takes a month to ship internationally which isn't right.

RE: OT: Ebay Problem (Suggestions PLEASE)
I always hate when buyers ask "is the card mint" or "what is the condition of the card"
My version of "mint" is different than other's definition of "mint". I one time sold a "mint" card, the buyer sent it in to get graded...came back a 9, and he wanted a refund because it wasn't a 10.

But if the card was significanly dingged that should have been noted in the auction. If it wasnt', the it wasn't as described. But I also believe, that if it was something that you could see in the photo, the that's on you.

RE: OT: Ebay Problem (Suggestions PLEASE)
the photos didn't show the whole card.

and i would be fine with a 9 grade.

i would be extremely disappointed if it came back a 7.
