Duplicate printing plates?
#1
Question
Duplicate printing plates?
Is it possible to have two of the same printing plate? I saw a yellow printing plate listed in the C2C section of beckett.com but I have the EXACT same card in my possession...however, mine is in a Beckett graded case. Is it possible someone from Beckett had their hands on this and tried to sell it before I got it? I got it from a box of Best of Football...so, I thought that meant I was the first person to have the card...am I missing something? There's no doubt it is the EXACT same card...and I've seen it listed for over $10,000 on eBay...just a different color plate. He's a future guaranteed HOF.

What gives?

RE: Duplicate printing plates?
Depends on the product some, I know 2009 Press Pass Legends has a front and back plate so there is technically 2 plates for each color. It's also possible the other person just hasn't deleted from their inventory yet.

But if I got the card fresh out of a sealed box, how does that person have the exact same, front plate? It's a 2005 Bowman rookie card.

The Best of Football cards i believe are re bought cards that get graded and put in to the boxes. I may be mistaken, but just because it came out of the sealed box does not mean that it is a brand new card. Especially if its a 2005 and its 2012 right now.

Well, I'm not saying it is brand new, I've heard of companies collecting cards to put in higher end boxes to resell. But I thought they were cards had not been circulated at all. Guess I'm wrong.

This - Leaf BoF is nothing but re-purchased cards put into a box. Some are graded and others are just authentic because they didnt meet the minimum BGS 9 needed to stay slabbed.

+1, And since it's a 2005 bowman chrome of I'm assuming Aaron Rodgers, there should only be 1 of each color. This being said I would guess who ever has it in their inventory here probably just hasn't deleted it yet or may have just clicked the wrong color when adding it.

BTW even if it is Rodgers, if you can get anywhere near $10,000 for it sell now and run.
