My 1000 Card Club

My 1000 Card Club
Updating these totals as I now have 32 players that I have at least 1000 different cards of, surpassing that mark this weekend with my 1000th unique Barry Larkin card. These are just cards listed in Beckett, for example I have over 50 Griffey Jr., Mantle and Ryan cards that are not listed in the Beckett database. Anyone else have a 1000 Card Club?

Edited to update numbers.

Ken Griffey Jr. (3319)
Alex Rodriguez (2954)
Greg Maddux (2619)
Barry Bonds (2403)
Derek Jeter (2284)
Cal Ripken Jr. (2211)
Mike Piazza (2145)
Frank Thomas (2129)

I have over 40,000 cards total. I'll have to look to see if I have 1000 of a player. Too much of a cheapskate to buy Organize Big Grin

I collect Hall of Famers and potential Hall of Famers. Most of the non-HOF players on that list had potential before the steroid scandal. Plus I started collecting in 1970 so I had a good headstart on a lot of the folks on these boards.

I have 35,000+ cards, and I knew without even looking that I did not have 1,000 of any one player. Once I checked, I saw that my two largest HOF player collections (Jordan and Sandberg) do not even total 1,000 cards combined!
I appreciate Chicago players that begin competing within the city's sports organizations and stay with these teams throughout their careers.
