86 fleer jordan PSA vs BGS

86 fleer jordan PSA vs BGS
why do PSA 10 Jordan Jordan fleer rookies sell for almost double then most 9.5 Jordans? I belive beckett grades better then PSA. I have seen some really bad graded PSA 10 fleer jordan rookie off center print dots edge nicks ect. Even a BGS 9.5 jordan with all 9.5 sub grades is only going for about 6k. the only 9.5 Jordans that sell for huge money are the ones with two 10 subs and 2 9.5 subs

Simply because people get very picky over .5 difference in grades. PSA slabs just look horrible, that's why I don't understand it. Smile

86 fleer jordans with all 9.5 subs I think are a great buy considering what PSA 10's bring i have seen a couple and they were perfect in every way. The PSA 10's I have seen were horrable and looked like 8.5 's or 9's at best

That's why this market is always going to be about what one person is willing to pay. Just because someone wants a PSA 10 for X,XXX doesn't mean every other collector will want that same card for that much, or even that little. Buy what you want, not what others want. That's the rule I live by. Smile

yeah good point buy the card not the holder i guess. maybe people will wake up one day and realize PSA is a joke. I have seen more overgraded card is PSA holders then any other grading company.

There are 272 9.5's and only 148 PSA 10'S. Supply and demand.

thats not really true. there maybe 272 BGS 9.5 but how many BGS 9.5 have all 4 sub grades of 9.5 or higher? I belive a BGS 9.5 Jordan with all 4 9.5's should be worth more then a PSA 10 Jordan infact I read someware else the PSA 10 jordan that sold for $11,800 was a BGS 9.5 cross over and had 9 for a surface grade

Very true here.. I agree with your thoughts, but most of the high class vintage collectors that chase T206 sets, 1952 Topps Mantles all want PSA for the fact that they are more forgiving with the vintage stuff ...those are also the type of collectors that want to venture into "modern" basketball for a card like an MJ rc and that is it.

Now if I dropped that kind of money on cards, I would want the best grade I could get + I would want the slab to match all of the high dollar sports cards I already have.

I belive a MJ RC graded BGS 9.5 with all 9.5 sub grades is far rarer then a PSA 10 Jordan rookie by far. I bet out of the 272 graded 9.5 Jordan rookies there are less then 100 or maybe even less then 50 with all 9.5 subs or higher. compare that to the 148 PSA Jordanswitch most look pretty bad for the grade that I have seen
