Bryce Harper and the all-star game: "vote for chipper, not me"

RE: Bryce Harper and the all-star game: "vote for chipper, not me"
Eh, too late. I already voted for him and Jason Hammel on the O's. Why? Because I felt like it.

He has been so over-hyped by the media, that they have the fans believing that he is the second coming of mantle or something, truth is, he is a good ball player, but not an all star, nor a gold glove winner good, nor will he ever be.

Batting against top caliber pitchers like Santana,Sabathia, Oswalt, etc... is totally different than batting against some 16 yr old in high school, He would have been better off going to college, and perfecting his game more, than being hyped into the Majors which he doesn't deserve.

I seem to recall a few years ago, another over hyped player by the Media, by the name of Toe Nash, as being the second coming of Clemente because he was a 5 tool talent, where is he now? Hmmm

why are folks so blinded by this guy's name

this isnt about if harper should be an all-star (which, not for nothing, is a popularity contest, like it or not)

this is about harper having the class to say: chipper should get your vote

i dont mind having the "is he an all-star" conversation, but that isnt the story here

First off I understand what you are posting Jacoby. I totally think it is a class move by Bryce. He isn't saying he is going to be voted in, he is saying don't vote for me, vote for Chipper. Total class move by his corner.

Shez I don't know how many times you post crap that is just spoken straight from your *****. Like Jacoby stated it isn't whether his stats say he should or shouldn't, because it is all a popularity contest. With that said the crap you spout is just amazing.

Well, you have to pick one or the other. Trout has only played in one more game than Harper.

Trout also saw some playing time late last season, which I feel has helped him this year. Harper just needs to get a season under his belt.

this is kind of silly. he got 100 at bats last year...so now he qualifies for the ASG?

And Jacoby-I hear (or read) what you are saying and agree 100% with you. I wish more people in general were like that, whether it's legit or his "handlers" are dictating to him what to do and/or say.

Holy cow, Ben Sheets! I haven't heard that name in forever.
