The Penguins just aqcuired Tomas Vokoun from the Washington Caps for a 2012 7th rd pick...Vokoun signs 2 yr contract $2 mil/yr

He started out pretty strong...but slacked off toward the end....so I def think he is looking for a new team. Hes a great back up...not sure what happened toward the latter part....plus he fit right in with Asham, MacIntyre, Engelland...when things escalated!

Vokoun is far from what he was in Florida, but a good backup for Fluery. Solid move, I think. Not gonna help the GAA as much as a shut-down D man... if only you still had Gill and/or Scuderi...

Not to sure that was a good move but Fleury was always either on or off so that being said I still don't think Vokoun is the answer ...we know the Pens are a high scoring team if they can find that shut down goaltender that would be something.... in my opinion they should have went after "Holtby" but I highly doubt the Cap's would have let him go......

Not a chance the Caps are letting Holtby go...RS might have tried his luck if it was possible(then again might have cost too much in trade)....Vokoun should work out fine. BJ filled his role well for a while but a change was needed..If Vokoun can stay healthy he will serve his purpose.

I know they would not give Holtby away what I meant was if they can get that shut down goaltender they would be a real force to recon with because of their high scoring ability.....Fleury lets in weak goals and pressure sometimes gets the best of him .......maybe they should pick up Hasek as he is looking to make an NHL comeback...lol...

I think it's great motavtion for fluery to become more consistant. Fleury is my dude for sure but he is so up and down. Vokoun is by no means in the same league as fleury but he is consistanly good if not a little better then good. But fleury on his game is amazing. So even Vokoun as back up he will learn from one of the best and if fleury does fall apart even more hopefully his lessons will teach Vokoun the skills to take over and go above what Fleury has ever done. I am hoping it never comes to Vokoun taking over but I hope and wish him the best and I think it's a good thing we now have him ! ! ! Go Pens ! ! !
