Full Version: Need Tips to Increase My Vertical (for dunk)

I'm new to this sub and found it looking for tips to increase my vertical jump to eventually be able to dunk. I am pretty tall and it's really annoying having people give me ***** for not being able to dunk in the locker room three times a week.

Firstly some background information. I'm 6'4" 215 LBS if I raise my arm my total reach is a little over 8', I can also touch the rim from a standing position. Basketball is not my primary sport, I train for swimming but I play a bunch of basketball on my own time which is why I'm asking this question.

I work out at least five days a week so the muscle is there, I would love some general tips regarding technique and any exercises that can help spot train applicable muscles.

If there's any other information I can offer please ask.
