I bought the last box of 2010 topps updates a lcs had and I pulled these two cards.

Jason Vargas black 55/59
Mike Redmond silk collection 46/50.

both of these pulls were surprises to me.

My question is this why does the numbering on the black card look like it was done with a ink jet printer? all of the gold cards I pulled as well looked like this. I know that before and after this set the gold cards numbered were indented and in gold but not this set why?
Nice pulls not sure why they were # like that..
They started doing that last year i believe. It probably costs more to use embossing on cheap card stock. Bowman Chrome for example still has an embossed number.

Generally all the chrome stock has nice numbering no matter which producdt.

But Bowman paper also has nice numbering compared to flagship. Topps doesn't treat all their brands equally here, probably because flagship Topps will always sell but they want to get more people into Bowman so they have another set to sell people.
