I recently made a trade with someone on here for some PSA graded rookies and got the itch to start picking off some graded rookie cards I have always wanted or stupidly sold in the past. I started putting together a list and wanted to start with the 1993 Upper Deck SP Derek Jeter. I figured maybe $300 for a PSA 9, but it was more like $800-$1000 per. I was stunned. PSA 8 sells for around $100. I'm not too informed on graded cards. Is it that difficult to find these in better than PSA 8 shape that there would be a $700+ price difference?
The jump from PSA 9 to PSA 10 is pretty awesome as well.
the reason a psa 9 is so much higher than a psa 8 is that card is foil and high grade foil cards are tuff to get.
Very, very condition sensitive set...

For 93 SP, there are:

7400 psa 8's
490 psa 9's
12 psa 10's

Compare that with his 93 topps

3300 PSA 8's
6100 PSA 9's
1100 PSA 10's

Which explains the huge jump for the psa 9 sp

I've heard that this is on a very short list of cards that PSA has always graded very tough

The list must be real short, b/c I've seen a ton of Nolan Ryan PSA 10's that were Off-Centered. I look for Nolans in PSA 10 to cross over to BGS/BVG.
Kinda what I figured. Thanks for the info everyone
