I just wanted to share my first major project with you guys. I’m looking to collect all all-star rookie cup cards including parallels, since the cup was first used in ’60. Some of my favorite cards as a kid were the 86/87/88 Canseco, McGwire and Weiss, the ’88 Greenwell and the ’90 Griffey which all had the all-star rookie cup. I always remembered being excited about pulling a card with the all-star rookie cup, even if I didn’t know who they were. In my vintage PC I’ve always targeted second year cards as they are more within my price range and as close to a RC as I could afford which includes a '64 Pete Rose I bought when I was 11.

So far it has been a fun project and it’s a lot of fun to flip through the pages as an All-star rookie cup history kind of deal, or just a history of topps. I’ve made some good progress in only two months, with 308 out of 1388 for 22% completion, but there are some High BV cards mixed in which will be tough.

I’ll be using this thread to also help me keep track of my own progress and show off some portions when I complete them, or when I get in some of the better items. I need a lot of help with this project, especially the parallels and vintage, so if you have a bunch of these products loaded into ORG, let me know and I’ll give it a look. All my are should be marked in org…

That is an awesome Griffey! What card is that, a buy-back?
I have the '13 Topps Harper card #1 Wal Mart Blue Border any need for it?

If it's the blue border with the cup then yes. This project started out with base-only, but just reached a whole new level lol. The large majority of any parallels with the ASR trophy cup on it are likely needed!
That is quite the challenge .... Best of luck. If I have anything to help, I'll let you know. BTW, that 64 Pete Rose is really nice ... But it's not a cup... its a trophy. Do those count, or not?

Yep. Sure do. I think the word trophy covers both designs a little better lol

It was always pretty astounding to me the number of ROYs that never "made it" and how many big stars who finished HOF careers weren't picked at the gate. It just shows you, it's not how you start, it's how you finish.
Good luck ... It should be fun to see how you progress.
